MAJOR ROBOTICS

Over in Germany, they’ve developed a façade cleaning robot that actually climbs up the sides of buildings and cleans them.  Incredible.  Yesterday’s science fiction is today’s scientific advancement.  One of my friends actually majors in robotics.  Her name is Shotzie and, before you ask, that is her real name and not a nickname because she likes doing a lot of shots.  “Shotzie” is German for “sweetheart.”  I don’t know why someone in a Mexican family has a German name, but the point is she’s into robotics.  She actually built this remote controlled spider robot thing that crawled around on the floor and up a ladder to where it crawled around on the ceiling.  When I saw, I immediately flashed back to my youth and thought of the spider-like robots that were designed to hunt down Spider-Man.  I think they were called spider-slayers.  Now there is no real Spider-Man, but if I could get my hands on a real life spider-slayer then I would do what I had to.  Luckily, my friend Shotzie was playing the role of mad scientist and I thought I could just ask her to do it.  As it turns out, she’s not into programming, just the building, and doesn’t have the proper resources to build what I want.  What a friend.  She barely tried.
